This Privacy Policy explains how inneedai (“inneedai”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website, desktop application, and related services (the “Service”). inneedai is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up or sign in.
- Documents you upload— résumés, CVs, theses, papers, notes, agendas, and any other files you provide so we can ground the Service’s responses in your own material.
- Audio and transcripts — when you start a live session, the desktop application captures audio to generate a real-time transcript that the Service uses to produce answers. We process audio only to create the transcript and do not retain audio recordings. Transcripts are stored against your account so you can review past sessions, and you can delete them at any time.
- Usage and device data — log data, app and feature usage, approximate location derived from IP, and basic device information used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Billing information — payments are handled by our payment processor, Paddle (see below). We receive order details such as the amount, date, and your email address, but we never receive or store your full card number or other payment credentials.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and operate the Service.
- To transcribe live sessions and generate answers grounded in the documents you provide.
- To manage your account, credit purchases, and support requests.
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To improve the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers and sub-processors
We rely on trusted third parties to deliver the Service. Each processes data only as needed for its function and under its own terms and privacy policy:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Clerk — user authentication and identity management.
- OpenAI and Groq — large language model processing used to generate answers.
- Soniox and Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription of session audio.
- Paddle — our online reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle processes your payment and billing data as an independent controller when you make a purchase, under the Paddle Privacy Policy.
Some providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
4. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We do not retain raw session audio — it is processed in real time to produce a transcript and then discarded. You may delete uploaded documents and session transcripts from within the Service, and you can request deletion of your account at any time. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
5. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@updates.inneedai.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
